AskHQ answers from the documents you give it. These are your source documents — the handbooks, policies, SOPs, and procedures that capture how your agency operates.

Add a document

1

Open the Documents hub

Go to Admin Settings → Documents. (Only owners and admins can upload.)
2

Upload a file

Upload a PDF or text document. HomecareHQ stores it securely, then automatically processes it so AskHQ can use it.
3

Wait for processing

Processing splits the document into passages and indexes them for search. Larger documents take a little longer.
4

Ask about it

Once processed, ask a question the document can answer. The answer’s Sources strip will cite the document by title.

What makes a good source document

Authoritative

The current, approved version — not a draft. AskHQ reflects what you upload.

Text-based

Documents with real text work best. Scanned image-only PDFs have no text to index.

Operational

Policies, handbooks, SOPs, onboarding checklists, and procedures.

Comprehensive

Cover the questions your team actually asks — the more complete, the better the answers.

How grounding works

When you ask a question, AskHQ searches your indexed documents for the most relevant passages and writes its answer from them — then cites them. This is why answers stay specific to your agency and why you can always trace an answer back to its source.
Keep your documents current. When a policy changes, upload the new version so AskHQ answers from the latest guidance.
